So, those are some pretty cool new pokemon that got previewed huh? Their designs are pretty awesome and everyone seems to like them, especially Ceruledge which ALMOST makes me regret pre-ordering the Scarlet version. So red armor and blue sword are cool, but I always feel like when people praise them there is some kind of asterisk floating over their head because "they look more like characters from digimon/megaman, they just look like dudes with no animal features, blah blah blah" is always the next thing that comes out of their mouths. First of all I personally think they're awesome because they look like variants of Bisharp, one of my favorites, but like I've said MANY times before, the franchise is called POKEMON, that means Pocket MONSTERS. It is not "pokemals, pocket animals" so the pokemon are under no obligation to have any basis in a real world plant or animal. After all, there are MANY pokemon that are references to Japanese yokai or haunted objects such as Honedge or Mawile, and even pokemon straight up based on people like Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, so it's not a flaw that these two pokemon don't look like anything other than a flaming suit of armor...and I probably am going to have one or both of them in my party...
